The Chemical Earthing Compound (back-fill / earth-enhancing compound) is a highly conductive, non-corrosive mineral compound packed around the earthing electrode to dramatically reduce and stabilise earth resistance. It retains moisture, improves contact between the electrode and the soil, and works even in rocky, sandy or high-resistivity ground where ordinary soil fails to give a good earth. The compound is non-toxic, chemically stable and does not leach away, delivering maintenance-free performance for years. Approximately 50 kg (two 25 kg bags) is recommended per earth pit.
