JiGO JG-CZ-8108N Limit Switch

A fixed lever puts the roller where the manufacturer decided. An adjustable lever lets the fitter put it where the machine actually needs it: the arm slides in a slotted carrier and clamps, so the effective radius and the switching point are set during commissioning rather than designed in advance.

Actuator and application

• Adjustable lever length — slide the arm in its slot and clamp at the required radius
• Plastic roller — will not mark finished or soft surfaces
• Side rotary action with generous overtravel in both directions
• Snap-action contacts — one normally open and one normally closed, changing state cleanly regardless of how slowly the actuator moves
• Sealed cable gland entry — the N suffix in this series denotes the gland-entry version, for dusty and wet environments
• Metal head on a moulded body — the actuator head takes the mechanical work, the body carries the contacts

The plastic roller suits parts with a finished or soft surface. Set the lever as short as the geometry allows — a shorter arm gives a crisper action and less deflection under a hard strike.

Mounting and installation

Mount the switch so the moving part strikes the actuator squarely and runs past it to the overtravel position rather than stopping against it. A limit switch used as a mechanical stop is a limit switch that will be replaced. Tighten the gland properly on the cable — on a sealed switch the gland is the weak point, not the body.
