JiGO N48-2058 DIN Rail Meter

This is the narrow version of the six-in-one meter. Twenty-two and a half millimetres is about one and a quarter DIN modules, which means a full multifunction meter can be fitted into a board that has almost no spare width — a retrofit, a crowded distribution board, or a sub-meter squeezed in beside an existing breaker.

What the six readings are for

• Power (W) — the instantaneous draw of the circuit
• Energy (kWh) — cumulative consumption for sub-billing a tenant, a department or a machine
• Voltage and frequency — the condition of the supply
• Current — the load, and the earliest indicator of a developing fault
• Power factor — whether correction is working and whether a tariff penalty is being paid

All six values are on one colour display at the same time, so nothing has to be scrolled through to find the number you want. For a meter that is going to be read quickly, by someone standing in front of an open board, that matters more than any extra function would.

Connection and selection

Rated for circuits up to 100 A. Confirm whether the current input is direct or through a current transformer when ordering. If the meter is being used for sub-billing, record the energy reading before anyone resets it — the register is resettable and there is no audit trail.
